Just a few photos and illustration sI have done for my current project on my fashion course....

New years dress!

As always I left my choice of outfit for my friends new years party untill the very last minute! The only idea I had to go on was a pair of blue suede shoes. river island. £25. So I decided it was a green dress I wanted to wear with these taking no notice of the saying blue and green should never be seen. But unfortuantely I could not find the sort of green dress I had in mind aaaaaanywhere in the sales! That left me with 2 metres of green material, two blue buttons, my sewing machine that I got for christmas and a day to make my first dress. I am very happy to say I surprised myself, take a look at what I achieved :)

Fashion Babylon

'Fashion Babylon' by Imogen Edwards-Jones and anonymous. I have just starting reading this book after I found it whilst rummaging in waterstones through the very limited fashion section. I snapped it up when I discovered it was a book about 6 months in a fashion designer life. The witty comments, and brutal truth of the fashion industry all over it are a bonus. I'm hooked already! I would definately recommend it to anyone interest in fashion, or any girl who likes a juicy gossip!

P.S. I didn't get a lot of time to post over christmas and the new year, but 2011 will be all about working hard for me, so hopefully i will have heaps of fashion project work to post on here for you!

Fashion in Motion Stephane Rolland at the V&A

Shamefully I did not know much about Rolland until I went to see his show for the V&A last Friday. However I was very pleasantly surprised as soon as it began. Unfortunatly my camera skills are dismal. The pictures I took during the show do no justice to the amazing clothes but if you want to see what they actually looked like in all there glory then visit the V&A website. It was full of fabric, folds and fishtails...

Holly Fulton Frenzie

I recently spotted the designer Holly Fulton in Elle magazines December issue. She was wearing one of her designs which snatched my attention imediately. After checking out her website and seeing her Spring/Summer 2011 collection I am officially a fan. Its a jam of bold aztec prints that can keep your eyes hooked for ages. I want every piece! She says 'I hope that my love of surface sets my designs apart' and without a doubt it does.

New York Spotted!

I went on a college trip to New York last June and me and my friends planned to do a blog posting pictures of the fashionistas that we spotted. I completely forgot about it until this moment so I'm posting the people we found and the outfits that we laaaaaaaaaved! See what you think..
